2.2.1. Purpose and Application

The Top Management of Company has established “a health, safety, quality and environment policy” for safe operation of ships under company management and communicates the policy to all shore and shipboard personnel concerned to promote health, safety, security and environmental protection.

2.2.2. Vision, Mission and Values

The Company’s Vision, Mission and Values is described in the document APM 1.4.

2.2.3. Other Objectives

Company’s objective is to ensure that its policies are implemented and maintained at all levels of the organization both ship-based and shore-based. The Company's other objectives are defined as follows:

a) Maintain high technical and operating quality of the various ships;

b) Provide and maintain reporting routines to the ship owning companies and, to the extent possible, keep the ship owning companies secured against financial risk and exposure;

c) Develop and implement Safety, Health, Quality & Environmental Management System to maintain a high level of safety and environmental awareness within the organisation and thereby:

i) Preventing human injury, loss of life and property;

ii) Ensuring safe practices and routines and review of same;

iii) Avoiding damage to the environment;

iv) Complying with applicable international and national conventions, mandatory rules & regulations and ensure that applicable codes (such as ISM, or other applicable flag state authority, IMO, USCG), as well as guidelines and standards recommended by Classification Societies, official bodies and authorities, port state control and maritime industry organisations are taken into account;

v) Handling emergencies should they occur.

d) Develop and maintain a personnel policy which will secure the best possibilities of the employees' contribution to the accomplishment of Company objectives;

e) Enhance motivation and working conditions to promote personal and professional development of the employees with requirements clearly defined.

2.2.4. Planning of the Policy

The following items have been taken into consideration to plan the policy:

a) Suitability to the nature, scale and environmental impacts and context of the organization for all activities in the operation of managed vessels;

b) Commitment to comply with relevant health, safety & environmental legislation and regulations, and with other requirements to which the company subscribes;

c) Commitment to continual improvement of the SQEMS;

d) Provision of the framework for setting and reviewing health, safety, quality & environmental objectives, targets, and quality objectives;

e) Company Policies are documented, communicated, implemented and maintained to all employees, and are reviewed for continuing suitability;

f) Company Policies are available to the public, as requested.

2.3. COMPANY POLICIES

To achieve the above objectives, the company has established the following policies:

2.3.1. Safety and Health Policy It has been described in the document Safety and Health Policy (APM 1.5).

2.3.2. Quality Policy It has been described in the document Quality Policy (APM 1.5).

2.3.3. Environment Policy It has been described in the document Environment Policy (APM 1.5).

2.3.4. Drug & Alcohol Policy It has been described in the document Drug and Alcohol Policy (APM 1.5).

2.3.5. Ethics & Social Responsibility Policy It has been described in the document Ethics & Social Responsibility Policy (APM 1.5).

2.3.6. Anti-Bribery Policy It has been described in the document Anti-Bribery Policy (APM 1.5).

2.3.7. Human Resource Management Policy Company is fully aware that human resources, both on shore and on board, are key elements in safe and quality operations. To achieve this, Company shall:

    a) Appoint suitably trained and qualified staff to discharge their duties effectively.

    b) Emphasize the need for good communication at all levels, ensuring that all employees are given relevant information about their job, responsibilities, and place in the organization.

    c) Recognize the importance of training, and provide on-the-job training and encourage refresher courses.

    d) Endeavor to continually improve its performance by motivating and promoting professionalism and skills of the employees at all levels.

2.3.8. Review of the Policies

    a) Top Management shall review the company policies for continuing suitability in accordance with the procedures and should establish the records.

    b) Responsibilities and authorities, interval, methods, and records for reviewing the policies including actions taken from the result of review shall be included in the relevant procedures.

2.3.9. Communication of the Policy

    a) The Company will ensure that its policies are clear and simple language without any ambiguity, so that the policies are well understood, implemented and maintained by each employee, both ashore and onboard ships.

    b) Company policy statements are posted in company office and onboard vessels to act as a continual reminder to all employees.

    c) Policies are also made available to the public and interested parties including suppliers, contractors, and vessel agents as required. A copy of company policies shall also be displayed on the group’s home page.

    d) All Company shipboard staff is required to read & sign the copy of Company Environment policy prior to joining a fleet vessel as an acknowledgement of having read and understood the Company Environmental Policy.
